Cornerstone Business Services, Inc. is a full service mergers and acquisitions (M&A) firm selling businesses with values from $1 million to $30 million in the manufacturing, service, distribution and petroleum industries. Cornerstone’s corporate headquarters is located in Green Bay, Wisconsin with additional offices located in the Milwaukee and Madison Wisconsin and in Detroit Michigan. From our four locations we serve clients throughout the Midwest.
Cornerstone was founded in 2001 by Scott Bushkie. The company completed over $6 million in transactions in its first year and has grown exponentially. As of 2006 our associates have completed more than $265 million in aggregate transactions.
Scott Bushkie and Cornerstone have received numerous awards including in 2003 the Small Business Person of the Year by the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce and in 2005 the Small Business Administration recognized Scott as the Emerging Smalll Business Person for the state of Wisconsin.
Using a proven, written process, Cornerstone achieves a closing rate approximately three times the national average for our industry.
Contributing to this success rate are several techniques that distinguish us from other brokerage and M&A firms: |
Cornerstone works with a limited clientele. Each of our business transaction advisors actively markets only about four clients at a time. We focus our attention and energies on just a few companies, selling them before we take on new clients.

Cornerstone has the critical mass to get results. With a large support staff in the Green Bay office, Cornerstone gives its business transaction advisors the assistance they need to serve clients efficiently. We were among the first firms to employ an investment relations manager as the initial point of contact for purchase inquires. She screens potential buyers, checking their financial requirements, motivation, and willingness to adhere to our strict confidentiality guidelines. This frees our business transaction advisors to pursue only viable leads. Cornerstone also works with a copywriter, ensuring the marketing materials we develop for our clients are professional and thorough, again freeing our business transaction advisors to focus on maximizing our clients’ ROI. Once we have a signed letter of intent or offer Cornerstone's advisors work with our closing coordinator to keep track of all the due diligence details required to bring our client's business to the closing table.

Cornerstone places a high priority on communication. Sellers receive constant updates while their business is being marketed, and we meet with our clients face-to-face more often than other brokers do. We can do this because we only take on a limited clientele. We also encourage our clients to meet with a transition specialist to clearly define their expectations, motivations, and decision-making style and to determine whether they are really ready to sell. We can better meet our clients’ needs when we understand how they communicate and what they are expecting from the process.
We specialize in the industries we serve. Our business transaction advisors come from a range of business backgrounds and many of them are former entrepreneurs themselves. This means clients spend less time educating us about their business and more time preparing it for a profitable sale.
